THE VALUE OF A TIED SWEATER

Updated: Jan 10

A simple guide to stepping-up any outfit, and take it from basic to chic and put-together.

The art of a tied sweater is more than just a practicality, but a perfect opportunity to introduce color or personality to a basic outfit. Start with an all white or otherwise basic set, as pictured above, and add a simple splash of color around your neck. I find that this look is not only timeless, but effortless and practical.

Go crazy and get creative- take any outfit: a dress, skirt, or button-down, and use a sweater to dress it up. It is more than just a sweatshirt or pullover, it is an elegant, trouble-free look that radiates confidence and complexity.

When it comes to finding affordable ways to up your look, inexpensive and high-quality sweaters are certainly easy to find. While second-hand shopping always remains a viable option, Zara, Mango, and Brandy Melville also have great choices for basic and high-quality sweaters. If you are looking to make more of an investment into your wardrobe, Ralph Lauren makes some of my personal favorites. From American Flags to Teddy Bears, their timeless and chic sweater designs will always have you covered. Below I have featured one of my favorites, a vintage Polo Ralph Lauren that has travelled the world with me:

So the next time you are looking to grab a sweatshirt from your closet on the way out the door, consider the effect of a simple sweater instead. I promise, it will level-up your outfit and add that pop of color you know you need :)

DON'T MISS THE FUN.
